credits
hello! i coded this site without a template, but the nature of code is really that you take bits and pieces from all over the place. i wanted to make sure i properly credited everything and everyone that helped me. i'll update this with more stuff as i go along.
css
- w3schools is the best resource i can recommend - anytime i have a question about anything i can usually find info here. the skeleton holding most of my site together is the responsive web design grid.
javascript
i don't know a single thing about javascript.
- the hidden slide-out chatbox was made possible by screwing around with this, specifically the answer by fabrizio calderan which i've archived here.
- the dark/light mode script is from here.
- the gif animation toggle is basically me using the dark/light mode script and taking it to the extreme. for every gif i put on my site, i also upload a png version of just one frame from it, so it loads that image instead when it's toggled off. it's more work than freezeframe, but i was having too many issues with freezeframe.
- font changer script is by punkwasp.
- the bubbles on the fishtank page are from here.
- the visitor counter is by dannarchy.
- (site secret) the image that appears on wednesdays is thanks to this script.
- the css-only tabs on /collections are from here, although i'll probably change it again at some point since i had to use js to make them accessible.
